| Abstract | Lately several works objectifying to fulfill information blanks on Brazils Northeast Continental Shelf have been made. Specifically in Rio Grande do Norte State many studies have characterized its geological and morphological aspects. The study area is inserted in the offshore site on the Potiguar Basin. Physical and chemical references in this study were obtained through systematic in situ collect in order to monitoring the environment offshore area accompanied by MODIS (Moderate Resolution of Imaging Spectroradiometer) images acquisition for May/2004 and May/2007 comparison. These data are based on multitemporal aspects related to the sea surface temperature (SST) and to chlorophyll-a in sea water surface. Investigate stage is related to environmental sensitivity indexes for the area with the purpose of getting long time series patterns in case of oil spill accident. | |||
